The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is finally here! Co-hosted by cricket powerhouses India and Sri Lanka, this 10th edition of the tournament is set to be the biggest yet, featuring 20 teams and 55 matches of high-octane action.

The tournament kicked off on February 7, 2026, and will culminate in a grand finale on March 8, 2026, at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Matches are being played across 8 world-class stadiums. Here are the most anticipated fixtures:

  • February 7: Tournament Opener (Pakistan vs Netherlands - Colombo)

  • February 15: The Big Clash (India vs Pakistan - Colombo/RPS)

  • February 22: Super 8 Stage begins.

  • March 4-5: Semi-Finals (Kolkata & Mumbai).

  • March 8: The Grand Final (Ahmedabad).

Note: Due to regional tensions, Pakistan is playing their group matches in Sri Lanka. Colombo is also the backup venue for the final if Pakistan qualifies.


Tournament Format Explained

  1. Group Stage: 20 teams divided into 4 groups. The top 2 from each group move to the Super 8.

  2. Super 8: Two groups of four teams. Top 2 from each group advance to the knockouts.

  3. Knockouts: Two semi-finals followed by the ultimate final on March 8.
